SV — Verein fur Deutsche Schaferhunde
Germany · Founded 1899
The organization that gave the German Shepherd its start. It still holds the pen on FCI standard no. 166 today and runs both the SV-DOxS pedigree database and the WUSV breeding rules used worldwide.

World organization
The umbrella body linking German Shepherd clubs across the globe. It runs the yearly World Championship and sets the shared rulebook for breeding and certification internationally.

International federation
The global federation that formally recognizes breed standards and pedigrees across member countries. Our breed's standard sits on their books as number 166.
