OUR PHILOSOPHY
A German Shepherd Kennel in Brescia and across Lombardy, Driven by Passion
This is a small-scale program built around genuine devotion to a noble breed: every dog here grows up with care, respect and a real sense of responsibility toward its future.
What we do at Casa Arancina isn't a business — it's guided by values: balance, health, and the role this dog can play in a person's life. There's no industrial-scale breeding here. When we say "kennel," we mean it strictly in the FCI-registered affix sense.
Each litter descends from carefully chosen lines, backed by a genuine pedigree and suited for training, working roles or simply family life. Puppies grow up in a stable, balanced setting where early socialization comes first.

Anyone can produce German Shepherd puppies. Responsible breeding is rarer.
Casa Arancina applies the selection criteria set by SV Germany and works out of the Brescia province, easily reachable from across Lombardy, in keeping with the Italian ENCI and SAS standards. Only the soundest, healthiest dogs enter our breeding program — that's how a robust, functional breed is preserved.
Every dog here has full breeding rights and a genuine pedigree. Documentation is complete and available for each one — nothing withheld, all certificates on hand.
We make no guarantees we can't back up. Instead we follow a defined process, stay transparent at every step, and let data guide our decisions — and when something isn't working, we adjust course and say so openly.
Data-driven selection
Each pairing gets a paper trail: inbreeding coefficient, HD/ED scores, titles earned, longevity within the line.
ENS protocol applied systematically
Litters are raised indoors, handled daily from birth, and introduced to a range of stimuli starting in their first week.
Total transparency
Parent test results, pedigrees and rearing conditions are all open to view — there's nothing here we'd rather keep quiet.
WHY CASA ARANCINA
Temperament Is Proven in the Field, Not Written in a Listing
We work alongside some of Europe's most reputable kennels, ties built over time through mutual respect, shared standards and results that hold up. The bloodlines we can draw on, with genuine international records, aren't found in a catalog — they come from years spent actively involved in this world.
Dogs bred here show steady nerves, emotional stability and natural drive — traits that come through clearly in IGP work, protection and tracking. Looks are not our selection criterion; character, health and what each dog passes down through generations are. Call it the wolf dog if you like — it was never meant to be just decorative, it was built to work.
- HD/ED-tested breeding stock, A or B results only — dysplasia isn't left to chance here, it disqualifies a dog from breeding
- Verifiable FCI pedigree behind every dog — real documented history, not a name typed on a certificate
- Working ability proven through IGP, protection and tracking — genuine drive, not just ring-ready looks
- Ties with established European kennels, giving access to bloodlines with a genuine international record
- Thorough early socialization — puppies raised indoors under a consistent ENS protocol from week one
- Ongoing support — training advice, nutrition guidance, competition prep, and a network of people who take the breed seriously

OUR PRINCIPLES
Four Non-Negotiables Behind Everything We Do
No single formula guarantees a good German Shepherd. Still, a handful of things stay fixed for us no matter the circumstances, the requests we get, or whatever trend is popular that year. We call them principles rather than rules because that's exactly what they are — not requirements handed down from outside, but beliefs we've earned through years spent with this breed.
Values-driven activity
Casa Arancina isn't run as a business — it runs on values: balance, health, and what the German Shepherd contributes to a person's life. There's no industrial breeding here. "Kennel" is used strictly in the sense of a registered FCI affix.
Responsible selection and breeding
Every puppy we raise descends from carefully chosen lines, holds an authentic pedigree, and shows real potential for training, working roles or family life. Puppies are raised in a stable environment where early socialization and individual attention come first.
A close circle, not a marketplace
From time to time, certain families or individuals become part of what we do here. That's never arbitrary — it comes down to trust, shared values, and a real stake in this breed's wellbeing.
Getting to know each other first
If you respect this breed and believe in doing things responsibly, reach out and get to know us first. We don't run waiting lists or paperwork-first processes — just an honest conversation to see if we're aligned.
FROM THE JOURNAL
From our journal
It's Not the Breed, It's the Breeder
People rarely fear dogs for no reason — they fear the unpredictable ones, and unpredictability is almost always something a careless breeder or owner put there.
ReadThe Wolf That Domesticated Itself
No one tamed the dog on purpose. Wolves that tolerated humans best simply survived better near our fires — and over thousands of years, natural selection did what training never could.
ReadWhat a Dog Teaches That a Screen Can't
Give a child a phone and it responds instantly, on command. Give a child a dog and it makes no such promises — and that difference is exactly what builds character.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common Questions From Serious German Shepherd People
What documents come with a puppy, and how old should it be at pickup?
Why should HD A/B ratings matter to a buyer?
Why should breeders be applying the ENS protocol?
Working line or show line — how do you decide?
Because pedigree issuance runs through the national club's own administrative process, it can take a few weeks to come through after a litter is registered.
